Carleon Class

In Carleon Class, we have a mix of Reception and Year One children, taught by Mrs Harman and Mrs Ruscombe-King and assisted by Mrs Belfield.
Our fantastic new classroom allows us lots of space to learn and be creative.
We love to use our role play area and work together on our interactive smartboard.
We can often be found outside, taking part in active learning and making the most of our wonderful garden and our new covered outdoor learning space.
If your child is in Carleon Class, you can use your parent login to view the class page, with information and photographs of what the children are working on.
See below for this term's learning overview.
More information can also be found in the St Keverne Welcome Leaflet for Parents - see the link below.
Carleon Class have been reading ‘The Giant Jam Sandwich’ by John Vernon Lord. Following this we decided to make our own bread and then some jam sandwiches using the bread we had made. They were delicious!
As part of the Food Glorious Food topic, the children in Carleon Class made Blackberry & Apple Crumble. They picked blackberries from the hedgerows on the school field and apples from our trees. The Crumble was delicious!

Carleon Class have been reading Roald Dahl’s ‘The Magic Finger’. The children have thoroughly enjoyed the story and found it very funny. The family in the story end up growing wings, building a nest and spending the night in it (Whilst a family of ducks grow arms and move in to their house!).

Amazingly, on Thursday this week, Olivia brought in a bird’s nest she had found so the children got a fantastic hands on experience looking at an actual nest. They produced some lovely writing about it too!
